It’s a Circus Around Here

If I had known it was possible to run away with THIS kind of circus I TOTALLY would have signed up.

I hope no one is under the pretense that I have any idea what I am talking about when it comes to wine recommendations. I bought this solely because of the name.

Me at the liquor store:

Oooh! Circus! That’s a fun name. I wonder if the people who made this were part of a circus. Maybe they were gymnasts. That looks like a picture of the Colosseum on the label. I wonder what that has to do with a circus. I should buy this…

WAIT! Must go through important, discerning, wine check list first: ย

  1. Red? CHECK
  2. On the lower shelves, which means it’s cheapย less expensive? CHECK

Rigorous booze investigation outcome: PASS!

  1. Sounds like excellent criteria to me! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m enjoying some Clayhouse Adobe Red right now, I think you might like it!

Since I know nothing about wine (shame on me, having been a fine dining waitress for 10 years!!), I choose by ‘label’. I buy Tempra Tantrum when I have PMS, and I bought my boss two bottles of ‘Herding Cats’ after we chased a couple of them all over a house we were trying to clean! There are so many fun wines out there and I’m just glad I have a cheap palate!

  3. Ha ha! A girl after my own heart. I once bought a bottle in New Zealand purely because of it was called Cat’s Pee on a Gooseberry Bush. Now I ask you, who could resist that?!

  4. We buy solely based on the cute label. And the $4 price tag.

  5. Clayhouse, Tempra Tantrum, Herding Cats, Cats Pee on a Gooseberry Bush… these sound like they would ALL make it through my thorough screening standards! That is awesome. You know I’m on a mission to find wines with ridiculous names now, don’t you? ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Two Pitties- $4?!!! In Europe we used to be able to find perfectly respectable wines for 3-6 euros… when we moved back to Canada we were AGHAST the first time we had to fork over more than $15. They tax the hell out of alcohol up here- LAME.

  6. Um … excuse me. I’m sorry. Are you telling me there are OTHER criteria for selecting wine besides the label and an inexpensive price tag?? And now that we’re driving on bumpy roads, were limited to labels, prices, and boxes ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Can I just tell you how much better you guys are making me feel? ๐Ÿ™‚
