R.O.A.R. Squad: Sandy and her dog, Big Daisy
R.O.A.R. Squad: Rescue Owners Are Rockin’
Sandy and her husband have a whopping six (SIX!) four-legged furries scampering about their house right now, including three rescues and a foster. The beauty in the photo is Big Daisy. Welcome to the R.O.A.R. Squad! You can find Sandy on Twitter @luvpets_fitness.
About Sandy: We (Sandy and her husband) foster and volunteer with Safe Haven Humane Society. I’m so happy we have had the opportunity to foster and work with this awesome group. The people and dogs are wonderful.
Rough Start: Big Daisy had been “in the system” for an extended period. Her owner abandoned her for at least three weeks, leaving her locked in the basement to fend for herself. Luckily the neighbors called for help and she was rescued, treated for mange (she was 3 years old and had puppy mange in addition to some weird possible chemical burns on her belly) and put on the road to adoption.
Great Ambassador: Big Daisy was our first experience with a pitbull and we now think that pits are tops for so many great reasons–she actually opened the door in our rescue group for other pitbulls. She is just a wonderful representative.
Where: Michigan

It’s so crazy seeing these beautiful dogs with their owners, then hearing their sad “before” story. And of course, pitbulls are the best! It’s great to see how Daisy opened the door for so many more pittie rescues.
@Two Pitties- I know- one thing I find great comfort in though is just how “in the moment” pups are. So much to learn from dogs in terms of not holding a grudge.
Just checked your ROAR Squad page – your categories are filling in. Keep it up! And have a fan-freakin-tastic weekend.
@Rod- YEAH! It’s so exciting! Have a fair ways to go over the next year, but I am confident we’ll get there!
Big Daisy really did earn the name Big 🙂 She is very cute
