R.O.A.R. Squad: Rescue Owners Are Rockin’
A motto to go by: I strongly believe that many pet behavioral problems can be resolved or ameliorated by increased exercise and mental stimulation. My new motto: When in doubt, wear them out. (Editors’ note: I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree, Karen! Humans: How do we feel when we sit on our butts all day? Like crap! Animals are just the same!)
Rescue: I adopted Rosie from Brother Wolf Animal Rescue here in Asheville, NC.
A Rose by Any Other Name: Rosie looks like a black lab, but I suspect she’s got some hound in her as well.
Ruff Reader: One of her more endearing habits is that she appears to read my mail and the newspaper while I’m out. I often come home to find the local weekly paper open on her bed (unchewed), and once she even grabbed Dr. Pitcairn’s Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats off of the bookshelf and brought it into the living room.
Happy Hazard: Being a retriever, she adores carrying her stuffed toys around the house, and has unintentionally knocked more than one glass of water off the coffee table in her day, either with her stuffed monkey or her happy tail.
Where: North Carolina
Karen is a big fan of the site Doggy Bytes… The gentleman who runs Doggy Bytes also happens to be a R.O.A.R. Squad member! Check out Jim and his dog, Zeus.
