OMG you guys, I am incredibly excited to introduce to you the latest R.O.A.R. Squad duo: Marg and DeNiro. DENIRO THE RABBIT! Yes, I realize it is very obvious that DeNiro is a rabbit, but look! A rabbit! And there’s a jumping photo and everything!

I am doing everything in my power not to pull out the Elmer Fudd impressions. I won’t even pull out a widdle joke.

Welcome, Marg! Thank you for all you and your rescue organization, New Moon Rabbit Rescue, have done to help these gorgeous creatures.

The Human: Marg McIlree

The Wabbit (okay, that was the last one): DeNiro, a Flemish Giant (born Sept 1, 2008)

About Marg: I am the co-founder of New Moon Rabbit Rescue in Ottawa, Canada- since Sept 2006 we have rescued over 170 rabbits.  It’s extremely tiring but very rewarding work!  Aside from that I work from home as a website designer.  I am a lover of all animals and when I have time for myself I like to write, paint and draw.  Aside from the rescue’s website, you can also find me on Twitter @RedRedSun or on my blog.

Hand Raised: DeNiro and his eight litter mates came to the rescue (New Moon Rabbit Rescue) on Sept 4th 2008.  They were born of an accidental breeding. The family did not notice them until a few days after they were born and were not willing to care for them.  They contacted New Moon in order to surrender them stating that if we did not take them they would be killed.  Being only a few days old when they arrived, the litter had to be hand raised and sadly, only two survived. DeNiro’s surviving sister Clover, has been adopted. 

Heart Breaker: DeNiro stole my heart.  I have helped many rabbits with New Moon and I grow very fond of all of them.  However there was always something very special about DeNiro and I could not let him go.  I officially adopted D on Jan 12th, 2009.
