R.O.A.R. Squad: Kristin, Brian and their dog, Pip

This is a very lovely day for a couple of fabulous reasons:

  • the R.O.A.R. Squad has been featured on Be the Change for Animals– a site which profiles a cause a week with the aim to help animals in need (thank you so much!)
  • + I get to introduce you to the latest fabulous R.O.A.R. Squad members!

A very warm welcome to Kristin and Brian and their incredibly cute, Pip. Welcome and thank you so  much for taking part!

The Rockin’ Rescue Owners: Kristin Avery & Brian Andreotti

The Gorgeous Pup: 12 year old Yorkie-mix, Pip. Check out  Pip’s blog: Pip Gets Back in the Game

The Best Foster Failure: Ten years ago Pip was abandoned at a local pet store with another dog, Teddy.  The two dogs were left in a cramped pet carrier – they were frightened, hungry, and filthy. Witnesses report that their former owner walked away laughing.  Fortunately, Red Door Animal Shelter in Chicago admitted both dogs.  Teddy was very outgoing and was adopted almost immediately, but Pip was shy and frightened.  We originally took him home as a foster dog, but fell in love with him almost immediately.

A Dog’s Life: Pip likes cats, green olives, fancy costumes, peanut butter, eating paper towels, barking at deer, watching Oprah, and contemplating life from the safety of my mom’s lap. He dislikes stairs, basic commands, hot days, getting his nails trimmed, his prescription low fat dog food, being away from home, and long walks. Pip shares his home with his parents, three cats, and little sister.

Where: Chicago, IL

Another happy ending because of caring angels on this earth! I don’t think I will be around when the mindset finally changes with regard to animals in our society but at least there continue to be good stories such as this one to give me hope. I’m so happy for Pip!

  4. We have gotten to meet Pip in person because he also lives out here in Chicago. So good to see him and his family here.
