Rockstar

For John’s birthday I made him this book with a bunch of pictures and a bunch of reasons why he’s a rockstar. Here are a couple of the pages:

Bangs!

I love John and everything, but making this book took for-frickin’-ever. Holy crap. If you want me to make one for you, let me know: It’ll be one meeeellion dollars.

Actually, John is AWESOME at every and all sports, but I didn't have enough room for "awesome" in the caption...

The photo of John and Mickey was from right after John finished his first marathon. He didn’t puke or anything.

The photo on the left is when we are in the plane on our way back from our holiday in Mexico.  I am pouting because I don’t wanna leave Mexico and all its margarita marvellousness. I just don’t wanna.

The photo at the bottom of the page is from our wedding day. Or some other day when John wore a tux and I hung out in a white (ahem, champagne) dress all day.

I am wearing a sweater because it was cold in Egypt. John is not wearing a sweater because he is a freak of nature who does not experience cold temperatures.

The photo on the left is at our friend’s wedding. The way the people heads are behind John makes him look like he has Mickey Mouse ears. tee hee… mickey mouse ears…

The photo on the right is in Egypt. While we were wandering through a market in Cairo one of the vendors gives me an appreciative once over and John an enthusiastic thumbs up: “Veeery luck-y man!”

John’s thoroughly charming response: “Lucky man? Lucky LADY,” while moving away from me enough so the vendor can properly view The Goods.

Yup.

Once again, Happy Birthday John! You are right though, I am a lucky lady!

These are the best kinds of gifts! But they totally take forever, that’s why I only do them for super-awesome people. 🙂 This turned out great, hope he likes it and has an awesome birthday!

Knowing we are loved and appreciated is such a sweet gift!

  3. Quite the awesome BD gift! It’s thoughtful and so much better than buying something. One year, for our anniversary, Sean bought one of those programmable picture frames and put our pics in it. I have it on my desk and have it on all the time.

What a great idea. I thought about it once, but it really is a lot of effort

Shauna, I’m glad we connected on Twitter. I also enjoy happy dogs, good wine & scrapbooking! The scrapbook you made for your rockstar is really impressive and thoughtful. Can only imagine the hours you put into it, but it looks like it turned out beautifully and worth all the work.

Wow! Very cute gift and very cute couple! How did you make the book? It doesn’t look like a cut & paste scrapbook job (*ahem* hack job, which I would probably do…), it looks really professional-like! Is there a program that you used or something?

FYI John grew up in Parry Sound, in (southern) Northern Ontario, and was born in Yellowknife, I believe… with that kind of pedigree it’s no surprise he doesn’t feel the cold!
