A huge welcome to Christie and her dog, Tiffany to the R.O.A.R. Squad! It looks like Tiffany is trying to take a swig of Christie’s beer. I like Tiffany.
Learn more about how Christie and Tiffany found each other and Christie’s awesome website after the jump- if you haven’t checked out her designs before, make sure you do!

Wonderful Pup: Tiffany (Maltese, 5 years)
About Christie: I’m a graphic designer who lives in the suburbs of Chicago. I’m a huge animal lover and always have been. Growing up, I had goldfish and newts (a type of salamander) as pets. But I always wished I could get a dog. Once I finished college, got a job, and moved into my own place, I became determined to find the right dog for me. I knew I wanted to adopt a dog, because there are so many wonderful dogs out there who need homes.
Gotta Check Out: Since I love dogs and love graphic design, I decided to make a website that combines the two. So I started designing t-shirts for dog lovers in my spare time. Here’s my site: Go Pooch Yourself. I’m also on Twitter: @gopoochyourself.
Love at First Sight: Tiffany is from the Naperville Area Humane Society. I went there to look at a poodle mix, but he was bigger than I expected and exceeded my condo’s pet weight limits. But then, I saw a new dog there who had just gone up for adoption that day. Her name was Tiffany, and she was a scrawny, scared little Maltese. Almost all of her fur was shaved off, so she looked very pink and naked. I asked if I could meet her and as soon as I held her in my arms, I knew it. It was love! I placed a hold on Tiffany. After waiting the required 24 hour period to think it over, I finalized the adoption.
Inspiration: I love Tiffany so much that I decided to volunteer at the Naperville Area Humane Society. I help socialize the dogs there to prepare them for adoption. It’s been a great experience! The dogs there are so sweet, and everyone gets really excited when they find their forever homes.
Star Pupil: Tiffany didn’t know any commands when I adopted her. She didn’t even know how to sit! Now, not only does she know the basics (like sit, down, and stay), she knows how to do some pretty impressive tricks! She jumps through a hula hoop on command. Another cool trick she does is playing dead when you point at her and say “bang.” She’ll do just about anything for treats!
