R.O.A.R. Squad: Diana and Michael and their dog, Sasha

Please join me in welcoming the lastest R.O.A.R. Squad members from Washington: Diana and Michael!

This photo completely reminds me of where I live on Vancouver Island! See some more action shots after the jump!

If you would like to be profiled in the R.O.A.R. Squad (Rescue Owners Are Rockin!) all the info you need to do so is HERE. A special shout out to fabulous folks in Hawaii, Idaho, Maine and New Brunswick– we need you!

Rockin Rescue Owners: Diana Lund & Michael Stillings

Gorgeous Rescue: Sasha (MissPishPosh), approximately 3 year old Chihuahua/Min Pin (check out her blog: Miss Pish Posh Says…)

Kitty: We adopted Sasha in February of 2010, from Northwest International Pet Rescue in Edmonds, Washington.  We don’t know very much about her earlier life.  We do know that she was debarked, twice, and that she lived in a cat sized travel carrier for most of her day.  We understand that her original family decided to have children, or did have children, and didn’t trust her around them for some reason.  That has not been our experience with her.  Our next door neighbor has a small child that she adores and adores her.  We carefully tested them together and have gently trained Sasha to not bark at children.  Now they greet each other like long lost best friends.  The baby will hug her and Sasha readily lets her with only the slightest wince when she places drooly kisses on her head and calls her “Kitty”.

Cheese Please: Sasha loves cheese.  We think she dreams about cheese.  She fainted once because I didn’t give her a cheese bit treat fast enough.  Poor Baby!

Double Trouble: She barks at her image in mirrors and in the skylights.  We call her image “Buddy”.  If we ask her “Where is Buddy?” she will go look, bark and wag her tail.

Where: Washington

Debarked twice? What?! That is horrible!! I’m so glad this sweet little girl has a better home now. I will never understand some people in this world = ever. As always, thank God for the angels walking this earth like Diana and Michael.

  2. Kristine says:

“Where is Buddy?” Hah! I love it. I am so glad her de-barking procedures were failures, otherwise this adorable trick would never have come to be. Poor little Sasha. It sounds like she’s finally found the place where she is best understood. Yay for Diana and Michael!

  3. Heather says:

Welcome, fellow Washingtonian! That Buddy thing is hilarious. Silly puppy. 🙂

  4. Aww, I love her little curly tail! So cute!
