I am very pleased to introduce you to some fellow Canadians: Maureen and Jerry and their dogs, Kodi and Rocky from Saskatchewan! Welcome to the R.O.A.R. Squad you guys!
I loved reading about how these dogs were instant friends- read more of their story after the jump!
If you would like to be profiled in the R.O.A.R. Squad all the info you need to do so is HERE. A special shout out to fabulous folks in South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming and the Yukon– we need you!
Gorgeous Pups: Kodi (Black Lab/Shepherd X) who was four months old when we first got him and now he is 4 years old; and Rocky (Boxer X) who was around 16 months when we adopted him and now he is 4 1/2.
Love at First Sight: Our first dog Kodi was rescued from northern Saskatchewan as a puppy by New Hope Dog Rescue an organization that takes dogs and puts them in foster homes so they can be around people. The foster homes figure out their personalities and quirks and what home they would be best suited for. It was love at first sight.
Right From the Start: Our second rescue Rocky was from Cold Lake, Alberta but someone from our agility club rescued him from the Lloydminster SPCA in Alberta and was being fostered by someone who also fosters for New Hope Dog Rescue in Saskatoon. Rocky was in the agility class that we were taking with Kodi and they got along famously right from the start. They are the lights of our lives and we can’t imagine not having them around.
Rockin’ Rescue Org: New Hope Dog Rescue is made up of the best people out there who donate their time and homes so dogs aren’t left out in the cold.
Chewbacca: Kodi sounds like Chewbacca from Star Wars when he gets excited and wants to get your attention like if you’re taking too long to get ready to go for a walk or throw the ball for him.
Giant Lap Dog: Rocky thinks he’s a lap dog, even though he’s about 60lbs and loves to cuddle.
Please Hear This… And Share Your Dinner: They are the best dogs around – at least in our eyes – and I can’t figure out why someone didn’t want to love them and take care of them. So for anyone who wants a dog they really should check the area for a rescue group or the nearest shelter as they are full of very loveable and loyal friends. They love you unconditionally and don’t ask for anything in return, except maybe a piece of whatever you are having for supper.
Where: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
