I am very happy to introduce you to a fantastic R.O.A.R. Squad pair from Washington: Dayna and her dog Bertie!
I think Bertie takes the cake when it comes to his official name: Sir Albert of West Green. Classic!
Learn more about them after the jump!
If you would like to be profiled in the R.O.A.R. Squad all the info you need to do so is HERE. A special shout out to fabulous folks in South Dakota, Wyoming and the Yukon– we need you!
Gorgeous Pup: Sir Albert of West Green (aka “Bertie”)- Bertie is a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix; maybe 7 years old, but he’s pretty coy about his age.
About Dayna: I am a Texas transplant who now lives in Tacoma, WA. My childhood home was filled with cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and birds. All but the hamsters were rescues. Stray cats and dogs seemed to have special radar that brought them to our door. After leaving Texas to move to Seattle, WA I had a pet drought due to “no pets allowed” apartments. I would get my pet fix with occasional pet sitting for friends, and lurking, I mean, visiting local dog parks. A month after I closed on the sale of my condo I brought home my first rescued dog, Neville.
Love at First Sight: My first rescued dog was Neville who came from Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals in Hillsboro, OR. Neville was a shy, senior dog who lived with me for 2.5 years until he died of heart congestion. A very sad week later, I was traveling in northern Washington for work. The last thing I wanted was to come home to an empty house, so on the way back south I stopped at the Everett Animal Shelter to check out their available pets. I had decided I would adopt two guinea pigs because I didn’t feel I was ready for another dog quite yet. I met two sweet piggies whom I decided to bring home. BUT, on the way to the adoption counter I passed the door marked DOGS and went in “just to look.” When I passed Bertie’s kennel it was love at first sight. Bertie sat in my lap, licking my face, for the two hour car ride home and we have been together since.
Charmer: Bertie charms everyone he meets and instantly has them wrapped around his paw. He is the cutest and snuggliest, so I blame him for the mornings I am late to work because I didn’t want to get out of bed. I have twice as many photos of him on my Facebook page than of any friends or family members.
Where: Tacoma, WA
