read it: amazing gracie

Hey! Have you read this book? It’s awesome.*

Amazing Gracie (by the guys from Three Dog Bakery) is a wonderful book. Not only does it tenderly illustrate the warm and important friendship between Man and His Dog, it will also take those of you with entrepreneurial tendencies by the shoulders and shake you until you can actually hear the “start your own business, already!!!” ring in your ears.

Also, when I finished it at 11pm I was so moved to blubbery tears I felt the need to tweet about it. It was just that dang lovely (the book, not the tears. Trust me, the tears were the gross kind).

Read about another fab book: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.

* The The Three Dog Bakery guys have no idea who I am- this isn’t sponsored in any way. I just enjoyed the book.

Thanks for the rec… I’m always looking for new dog books!

  3. @April- Enjoy! It’s a quick, enjoyable read.

  4. Did the dog die in the end? It sounds like a good book, but we cannot get our Mama to read things where animals die! It makes her get too sad! :(

  5. This was an awesome book. I love those guys.

  6. @Trixie- Well… I hate to spoil it for anyone else but… you might not want to pick this one up… or maybe just skip the last chapter :)

@Angie- Me too! I totally want to meet them now. There is a Three Dogs in Vancouver so @ the very least I’m going to check out their store when I’m on the mainland next.

Holy Moly, I could cry already based on what you said and the picture on the cover! Thanks for the recommendation Shauna – I will check it out for sure!

Wow! Thanks to your post, I got the book from the library, and devoured it in two days, all the while crying like a baby. I loved the relationship between man and dog, but my partner and I are in the start-up phase of a “barkery”, so I was doubly interested! Thank you for the recommendation, I will pass it on, as well as the link to your blog!

  10. @Kim & Pup- Let me know what you think!

@Ursula- Doesn’t it just make you want to find Mark and Dan, hug ‘em and then hug ‘em again? Such a lovely and exciting story :)

Best of luck to you and your hubby on your business!
