R.O.A.R. Squad: Celia and her cat, Lukie

I am very pleased to introduce our latest R.O.A.R. Squad member from the Yukon Territory, Canada: Celia and her cat, Lukie!

Celia was the Artistic Director of the Yukon Territorial Segment during the Victory Ceremonies at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics (via)! It is an absolute honour to have such a talented and inspirational addition to the R.O.A.R. Squad !

To learn more about the R.O.A.R Squad (Rescue Owners Are Rockin!), or if you would like to be profiled, all the info you need is HERE. A special shout out to the fabulous folks in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, and Idaho. These are the last states, provinces and territories we need-  we really need you!

Rockin’ Rescue Owner: Celia McBride

Gorgeous Kitteh: Lukie (short for Luke Wilson)- My mother says he’s a Bengal Tiger! He’s a brown tabby and I think he’s nine.

About Celia: I am a theatre artist, filmmaker and inspiring coach (read more about Celia on her site: Celia McBride)

Well Traveled Puss: Lukie is from the Animal Care League in Oak Park, Illinois. My parents were living there at the time and my mother adopted Lukie and another cat and called them Luke and Owen Wilson. Lukie moved to Canada in 2003 or 2004 and I adopted him from my mother in 2005 and brought him here to the Yukon.

Scaredy Cat: Lukie approaches his food and litter and anything else new/old/strange/familiar as though he has never seen it before. With extreme caution, slowly, sniffing carefully. I always say he’s got an anxiety disorder. My sister was visiting and she made a joke about it: He thinks everything is dangerous so she was like, “Suitcase Danger, Lukie! Careful! Running Shoe Danger, Lukie! Better be careful!”

Center of Attention: Lukie jumps on my stomach in the middle of the night to get my attention.

Where: Yukon, Canada

That last photo of Luke is very impressive. He is gorgeous. That serious feline look on his face certainly doesn’t make one think he is an overly anxious cat. Congratulations to Celia for all of her success!
