… a baby! Not an aardvark, or an alien… but a real, actual baby!
We had our 18 week ultrasound last week. It was mesmerizing. It’s a good thing we don’t have one of those machines at home or we’d never ever get dressed or leave the house or get anything done.
The little munchkin was stretching out, curling up, it looked like there was some hiccuping action going on for a bit as well. It was like watching a silent, ethereal ballet we instantly recognized as beautiful.
John and I have decided not to find out the baby’s gender until he or she is born. We want it to be a surprise. My friend pointed out that it will still be a surprise whether we find out now or 4+ months from now and she is completely right. But we’re still going to wait.
We walked out of there in an oh-my-god-this-is-really-happening daze.
