priorities

You know when you are fully aware that encouraging certain activities is a COMPLETELY bad idea but you do it anyway because it’s entertaining? Yeah, letting two goofy dogs play fight through a defenceless screen door would fall under that category. But it was funny. And I made them stop right away… after I got [...]

hold yer horses, woman

So far being pregnant feels pretty darn good. Well, the first trimester was… unpleasant. Pleasant in that I was excited to be pregnant, but unpleasant in that morning sickenss sucks. Did you know that morning sickness can go on ALL DAY LONG. Yeah, it can. Way to go naming it morning sickness, y’all. I was [...]

halo

Kayloo under a halo of light on laundry day (I’ve thrown her bed cover in the wash in the never ending (never winning) quest to banish the fur).

tattle tail

I was out for a lovely afternoon walk with the dogs a couple days ago. It was shaping up to pretty much be a perfect walk. It was warm and sunny, and the dogs were trotting along behind me like they were some kind of saints/someone else’s dogs. And then I felt someone purposefully walking [...]

paws for a cause

I took this shot of John and the dogs at the finish line of the BCSPCA’s Paws for a Cause walk held in Victoria last Sunday. It was great fun, hotter than heck and money was raised for a great cause! If you’d like to learn more about Paws for a Cause you can check ‘em [...]

she loves him though

This captures my dogs perfectly: Kayloo la-di-dahing her loping way along… and Mickey getting close enough to grab her by the scruff of her neck and shake her around until she agrees that he’s the boss of her. Boys are a pain.

puptastic

I like this photo of Kayloo because I think she looks soft and puppyish. Kinda uncoordinated, about to trip over herself… Given Kayloo’s track record I would say she is going to look rather puppyish for her entire life.

following

Kayloo is a follower. She will follow old dogs and young dogs, big dogs… the only small dog I’ve seen her follow is Mickey. Here she is following Elle. She also likes to follow children. Little ones often leave Cheerios in their footsteps and with their squeals and never ending supply of toys, tots are endlessly [...]

tall grass and loving it

If there is tall grass where we take the dogs for their walk, John likes to hide behind the highest stalks. And wait. The dogs love it. Kayloo generally forgets about the game long before she’s found him and just starts tearing around in circles in the excitement of it all. She’s not sure what [...]

3/4 of a family photo

A shot of me and my dogs on one of the very few warm days we’ve had lately. As you can see by the flappy tongues, it was very hot. It’s pretty impressive that we’re all looking at the camera, isn’t it? Especially me. As much as I would like to pretend my pups are photographic [...]
